News  /  Grand Prix practise for Els van der Veken

Last Friday Serge and two of his students, Eva Cornelis and Els van der Veken, have trained their tests at the Dutch practise show in Uden (The Netherlands). Els (31) tells about her experience:

'It was my best Grand Prix practise test so far. The canter went really well, we had nice changes. The zigzag is a difficult exercise, I need a bit more control here. My horse Wonderboy can be pretty hot but this time I could handle his energy in a right way. The passage was good, piaffe gets better every time. The score was 63,2% which makes me happy. I think if we can keep this progress I will compete Grand Prix officially in April this year.'

Els has some more competition horses: A seven year old mare (Timeless x Polansky) and a two year old stallion by Aron, which is a son of Florencio. Els: 'I love this one: he certainy has the looks and in my opinion he shows lots of talent as well.' Els also trains a five year old mare for somebody else. 'It's a Serano Gold x Jazz, such a fantastic horse. I will compete her in the young horse shows in Belgium this year.'
